CRITERIA FOR SCHOLARSHIP

Applicants must be a student or a graduate of the seven high schools located in Adams County, Pennsylvania. Those being defined as Bermudian Springs, Biglerville, Delone Catholic, Fairfield, Gettysburg, Littlestown and New Oxford High Schools. Only one scholarship per each of the seven Adams County Schools will be awarded if qualified applications are received.
Applicant must show evidence of acceptance to State certified or approved vocational education or other post high school technical school, and must concentrate their studies in the fields of carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical and/or heating, ventilation and air conditioning as it pertains to building construction or remodeling. A two year drafting course would also be considered.
Applicants will submit a completely filled in copy of the accompanying application to the guidance office of their respective high school or mail to: Adams County Home Show Scholarship Program, P.O. Box 3321, Gettysburg, PA 17325 along with a current transcript before January 31st of each year.
Along with the application and transcript the applicants shall submit a short, 300 words or less explanation as to why they have chosen this field of study and how they intend to use the scholarship proceeds should they be granted. This explanation shall be in typed form on 8.5 x 11 inch, white unlined paper.
The applicant packet shall also include a recommendation for one of your teachers containing a brief statement of your character as a person and a student.​
First priority shall be given to applicants on a financial need basis with grade point average secondary in importance. Applicants must maintain a 2.00 cumulative average scholastically. If no qualifying applicant can be found under the above criteria, the committee reserves the right to make a selection based upon specific criteria at the time of selection.

The Builders Association of Adams County supports future builder and we want to help Adams County high school graduates who have been accepted into a state certified post high program. If you are a student or graduate of Bermudian Springs, Biglerville, Delone Catholic, Fairfield, Gettysburg, Littlestown or New Oxford High School and you want to study carpentry, masonry, drafting, plumbing, electrical and/or heating, ventilation and air conditioning, our scholarship program may be able to help. One scholarship per school district will be awarded.
